EVAN LESSLER

HOST / GRAPHIC DESIGNER

What do you do for a living, and why?
I am a graphic designer by trade and own and operate a bay-area based clothing company, Adapt. I think the greatest motivator is witnessing people enjoy the products we produce each and every day.

In your opinion, what does it mean to Adapt in today’s society?
Adapting is understanding that everything is in constant flux. If we can make that work in our lives, we can thrive.

Your one-liner of advice for others who aspire to do what you do?
Be prepared to fail, and be prepared to get back up when you do.

ARNELLE LOZADA

HOST / CONTENT PRODUCER

What do you do for a living, and why?
I’m a freelance Content Producer working with various brands, I run my blog, and I have a growing focus on my humanitarian efforts. I’m passionate about shooting because the idea of making someone think, feel, or even spring into action from a single image has always been so compelling to me, so I work towards that every day. Helping people – whether they’re family, friends, or complete strangers – has also always been a passion of mine. These are the things that I find enriching and fulfilling, so they’re the main ways I proactively choose to spend my time in this short life we live.

In your opinion, what does it mean to Adapt in today’s society?
The way we learn and acquire information is changing, along with the ways in which we output. Adapting means being a self-starter and defining your voice and your lane, then figuring out how to make it heard in an age of oversaturation and overstimulation while staying true to yourself.

Your one-liner of advice for others who aspire to do what you do?
Stay hungry, take risks, ask the right questions, and don’t be afraid of rejection.

Kryptonite?
A juicy and beautifully marbled cut of steak.

DEREK WATERMAN

HOST / ENTREPRENEUR

What do you do for a living, and why?
I’m an entrepreneur with 12 years of experience in building brands and scaling businesses online. Presently, I’m quarterbacking a startup in the health insurance space, called HealthMatchup.com, and launching a whole-food, non-processed nutrition bar! I do what I do because 1) I love being challenged and jump at any opportunity for learning and growth, and 2) I feel that we all have a gift to give – right now, these are the channels through which I’m giving.

In your opinion, what does it mean to Adapt in today’s society?
You have to start by truly knowing yourself and by having a vision. Then, it’s a matter of holding true to your core values and mission, while being flexible enough to change material direction if you have to.

Your one-liner of advice for others who aspire to do what you do?
Turn your dreams into visions, your visions into plans, and your plans into ACTIONABLE STEPS.

To dig deeper and continue drawing your own map in order to take that journey to anywhere.
